Google Services (Google Maps Platform)

We use services provided by Google LLC as part of the Google Maps Platform.

Google Places API
Used to retrieve place and business information, including:

• Formatted addresses
• Geographic locations
• Ratings and reviews
• Opening hours
• Photos and place metadata

Google Geocoding API

We use Google Geocoding API to enhance location-based features and improve the usability of user-generated spots.

This service is used to:
• Convert geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) into readable addresses
• Provide structured location information for saved spots
• Display location details such as street, city, postal code, and country

This helps users better understand and recognize the location of a spot, but does not affect GPS accuracy or location precision.

HERE Technologies

We use HERE Technologies for routing and navigation services.
HERE Routing API

Used for:

• Route calculation between locations
• Navigation path generation
• Distance and travel time estimation
• Maneuver-based route guidance

Location coordinates may be transmitted to HERE Technologies to enable routing functionality.

React Native Maps

We use React Native Maps to display interactive maps within the application.

This library provides map rendering functionality and acts as an interface to native map providers depending on the user’s device (e.g., Google Maps or Apple Maps).

Firebase Services (Google Cloud Platform)

We use Firebase services provided by Google to support core application functionality, including authentication, data storage, backend processing, and media storage.

Firebase Authentication

Used for:
• Secure user authentication
• User account creation and management
• Social login (e.g. Google Sign-In)

This service helps verify user identity and manage secure access to the application.

Cloud Firestore

Used as the primary database for storing application data, such as:

• User-related data
• Application content (e.g. spots, saved items)
• App state and configuration data

Firebase Cloud Functions

Used for backend server-side automation, including:

• Automated monthly account-related processing (e.g. tasks executed at the end of each month)
• Scheduled backend workflows triggered on a recurring monthly basis

These functions run on Google’s cloud infrastructure and execute server-side logic automatically without user interaction.

Firebase Storage

Used for storing user-uploaded and application media files, including:

• Images
• Media assets
• Other uploaded content

Vehicle Data Services (NHTSA VPIC API)

We use the NHTSA Vehicle Product Information Catalog (VPIC) API to retrieve vehicle-related information.

This service is used to:
• Fetch vehicle make and model data
• Retrieve vehicle specifications
• Support vehicle-related features within the application

The API is provided by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

4. Location Permissions

The app may request access to your device location.
Location access is used only for features related to:

• Nearby places
• Maps
• Route calculations
• Navigation

You can disable location permissions at any time from your device settings.
The app does not use location data for unrelated advertising or unauthorized tracking purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain user data only as long as necessary to provide the services of the application.
When a user deletes their account, personal data is removed from our systems unless retention is required by law or for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance purposes.

7. Delete Account Instructions


How to delete your account
You can delete your account at any time directly from the app by following the steps below:

1. Open the app and go to the Menu
2. Navigate to your Profile
3. Scroll down until you find the “Unsubscribe” card
4. Tap “Delete Account”
5. A confirmation dialog will appear asking you to verify your identity
6. Enter your account password to confirm
7. Tap “Delete” to permanently remove your account

Important information
• Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
• Once deleted, all your personal data will be removed from our systems, except where retention is required by law
• This includes data stored in our authentication system provided by Google (Firebase Authentication), and any associated user data in our database and storage

Processing time
Account deletion is processed immediately after confirmation. Some data may take a short time to be fully removed from all systems.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is completely secure.


9. Children’s Privacy

The application is not intended for children under the age required by applicable local laws.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Changes become effective once published on this page.

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF USE CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE APPLICATION

BY CREATING AN ACCOUNT, ACCESSING, OR USING THE SPOT MOBILE APPLICATION (THE “APP”), YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS OF USE (THE “TERMS”). IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THESE TERMS, YOU MAY NOT ACCESS OR USE THE APP.

THESE TERMS ARE WRITTEN IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. BY CLICKING “AGREE” OR OTHERWISE USING THE APP, YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU FULLY UNDERSTAND THE TERMS SET FORTH HEREIN.

  1. INTRODUCTION

Spot (the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a community‑based platform that allows users to report available on‑street parking spots, view parking spots reported by others, and earn or spend virtual coins in connection with such activities. The App is intended to assist users in locating potential parking spaces; however, we do not own, operate, or control any parking spaces, and we do not guarantee the availability, legality, safety, or accuracy of any information provided through the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”) and Spot. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

  1. USER-GENERATED CONTENT – PARKING SPOT REPORTS

2.1 Reporting Spots.
The App allows you to submit information about parking spots (“Spot Reports”). Spot Reports may include location data, photographs, and other details. You represent and warrant that:

  • You are reporting a parking spot that is lawfully accessible to the public (i.e., on‑street or other publicly available parking areas).
  • You will not report spots located on private property, restricted areas, or any location where parking is prohibited, unless such spots are clearly designated for public parking.
  • You will not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent Spot Reports.
  • You will not report spots that are dangerous, obstruct traffic, or violate any applicable law.

2.2 No Endorsement.
We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legality of any Spot Report submitted by users. Spot Reports are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. You acknowledge that other users may report spots that are inaccurate, outdated, or located on private or restricted property.

2.3 Private Spaces and Restricted Areas.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that you do not park in areas that are private, restricted, or otherwise unlawful. The App may display Spot Reports for areas that are not actually available for parking. You agree to verify all parking restrictions, signage, and local regulations before parking any vehicle. We are not liable if you rely on a Spot Report and subsequently receive a parking ticket, are towed, or suffer any other loss.

  1. ACCURACY, VERIFICATION, AND REPORTING MECHANISM

3.1 No Guarantee of Accuracy.
Spot does not guarantee that any Spot Report is accurate, current, or reliable. Spot Reports are generated by users and may contain errors, omissions, or fraudulent information. We do not perform independent verification of Spot Reports, and we do not employ any mechanism to confirm the existence or availability of a reported parking spot.

3.2 User Verification Tools.
The App may provide features such as user ratings, photo uploads, or the ability to “confirm” or “dispute” a spot. These features are designed to encourage community self‑regulation but do not constitute our verification or endorsement. We reserve the right to remove Spot Reports that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be fraudulent, inappropriate, or in violation of these Terms.

3.3 Reporting Abuse.
If you encounter a Spot Report that appears false, misleading, or relates to private or restricted property, you may report it through the in‑app reporting mechanism. We will review such reports but are not obligated to take any specific action. We may suspend or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly submit false or abusive Spot Reports.

  1. NAVIGATION AND DIRECTIONS

4.1 Third‑Party Mapping Services.
The App may integrate third‑party mapping services (such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Mapbox) to provide navigation or location suggestions. We do not control these third‑party services, and your use of them is subject to their respective terms of use and privacy policies.

4.2 No Responsibility for Routes or Hazards.
Any navigation directions provided through the App are for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee that routes are safe, lawful, or free from obstacles, traffic, construction, or hazardous conditions. You are solely responsible for complying with all traffic laws and exercising reasonable judgment while driving. You acknowledge that following navigation instructions may lead to unsafe or prohibited areas, and we are not liable for any accidents, injuries, damages, or fatalities that may result from your reliance on such directions.

4.3 Disclaimer of Liability for Personal Injury or Death.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SPOT, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR DEATH ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING ANY RELIANCE ON SPOT REPORTS, NAVIGATION DIRECTIONS, OR OTHER CONTENT PROVIDED THROUGH THE APP.

4.4 No Responsibility for Traffic or Mobile Phone Fines.
You acknowledge and agree that using a mobile device while driving may be prohibited or restricted in many jurisdictions. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable traffic laws, including laws that prohibit or limit the use of mobile phones while operating a vehicle. Spot shall not be liable for any fines, penalties, or legal consequences (including but not limited to tickets for using a mobile phone while driving) that you may incur as a result of interacting with the App while driving. You agree to use the App only when your vehicle is safely parked or when you are a passenger. If you choose to interact with the App while driving, you do so at your own risk, and you assume full responsibility for any resulting traffic citations, accidents, or other consequences.

  1. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND CONDUCT

5.1 Compliance with Laws.
You agree to use the App only in compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for any parking tickets, fines, towing fees, or legal consequences resulting from your parking activities.

5.2 Prohibited Conduct.
You may not:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent Spot Reports.
  • Use the App to encourage or facilitate illegal parking or trespassing.
  • Manipulate the coin system, including by creating fake accounts, colluding with other users to artificially earn coins, or exploiting any bugs.
  • Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or networks.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or other users’ accounts.
  1. COIN SYSTEM

6.1 Virtual Currency.
The App may include a virtual currency (“Coins”) that can be earned by reporting spots and spent to access parking‑related features. Coins have no monetary value and are not redeemable for real currency. We reserve the right to modify, limit, or terminate the coin system at any time without prior notice.

6.2 No Real‑World Value.
Coins are a limited license right granted to you for use within the App. They do not constitute property, and you have no ownership interest in them. Any unused Coins may be forfeited upon account termination or at our discretion.

  1. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

YOUR USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE APP AND ALL CONTENT, FEATURES, AND FUNCTIONALITY ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPOT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR‑FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SPOT, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN PARTICULAR, AND WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, SPOT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • ANY PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE RESULTING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON SPOT REPORTS, NAVIGATION DIRECTIONS, OR ANY OTHER CONTENT PROVIDED THROUGH THE APP;
  • ANY PARKING TICKETS, FINES, TOWING FEES, OR OTHER PENALTIES INCURRED AS A RESULT OF YOUR USE OF THE APP;
  • ANY TRAFFIC CITATIONS OR FINES FOR USING A MOBILE DEVICE WHILE DRIVING (AS FURTHER DESCRIBED IN SECTION 4.4);
  • ANY DISPUTES BETWEEN USERS REGARDING SPOT REPORTS OR COIN TRANSACTIONS;
  • ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR DATA.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US, IF ANY, DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY.

  1. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Spot and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use of the App, including any Spot Reports you submit;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • Your parking activities, including any tickets, fines, towing, or accidents;
  • Any traffic citations or penalties incurred for using a mobile device while driving;
  • Any dispute between you and another user.
  1. BUSINESS USERS AND MARKETING SERVICES

10.1 Business Accounts.
If you are a business (including but not limited to coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, or any other commercial entity) that subscribes to our marketing services (the “Business Services”), you are entering into a separate commercial agreement with us. The terms of that agreement will govern the placement of your business logo, branding, or promotional content on the App’s map, screens, or other areas. By subscribing to Business Services, you agree to be bound by the additional terms set forth in this Section 10.

10.2 Use of Business Content.
You grant Spot a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free, worldwide license to display your business name, logo, trademarks, and any other content you provide (“Business Content”) within the App for the duration of your subscription. You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to use and authorize us to display the Business Content;
  • The Business Content does not infringe upon or violate any third‑party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any applicable laws;
  • The Business Content is accurate, not misleading, and complies with all applicable advertising and marketing regulations.

10.3 Business Responsibility.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your business complies with all local, national, and international laws and regulations applicable to your operations and your use of the App. Spot does not endorse or guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any business advertised on the App.

10.4 No Liability for Business Listings.
Spot shall not be liable for any claims, damages, or losses arising out of or related to the display of Business Content, including but not limited to claims of trademark infringement, false advertising, or consumer disputes between you and your customers.

10.5 Termination of Business Services.
We reserve the right to suspend or remove any Business Content at any time, with or without notice, if we believe it violates these Terms, our policies, or applicable law. Upon termination of your Business Services subscription, your Business Content will be removed from the App within a reasonable period.

  1. THIRD‑PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

The App may contain links to third‑party websites, services, or advertisements. We do not endorse or assume any responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third‑party services. Your interactions with such third parties are solely between you and them.

  1. MODIFICATIONS TO THE TERMS

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. The most current version will be posted within the App, and the “Effective Date” at the top of these Terms will be updated. Your continued use of the App after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the App.

  1. TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately, and any Coins or other virtual items in your account may be forfeited.

  1. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiations. If the dispute cannot be resolved within thirty (30) days, either party may submit the dispute to the competent courts of Athens, Greece. You agree to waive any right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class action.

  1. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE

These Terms are written in the English language. By clicking “AGREE” or otherwise using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and voluntarily accept these Terms, and that you have been given the opportunity to seek independent legal advice if you so desire. You expressly acknowledge that the English language version of these Terms shall prevail in the event of any translation or interpretation.
